A surpirse birthday party was held on Saturday afternoon honoring Mrs. Bessie McGregor on her 80th birthday which was the following Sunday. A host of friends and relatives helped to make it a gala occasion.

The attractive birthday cake baked by Mrs. Albert Rockswold, was in the shape of an open book on which were the names of the ten McGregor children. Mrs. Harlan McGregor cut and served the cake; Mrs. Rex McGregor poured, and Mrs. Robert McGregor had charge of the guest book. hostesses were Mrs. Lyle Opdahl, Mrs. M.G. McGregor and Mrs. Rex McGregor.

Seven of Mrs. McGregor's children were present: Merwin, Rex and Maxine (Mrs. Lyle Opdahl) of Litchville, John of Enderlin, Harlan of Omaha, Nebr.; Lloyd of Aberdeen, S.D.; and Robert of Moorhead, Minn.

Those unable to attend were: Joyce (Mrs. Wallace Jensen), Denver, Colo.; Irma (Mrs. Clarence Gunn), Las Vegas, Nevada; and Marjorie, Belle Foursche, S. Dak.
