Dickinson Information

Thanks Mary, for re-energizing this page. Please help me fill in gaps and make corrections. Copies of original documents or any info that can confirm some of these connections will be greatly appreciated!

Why does my branch of the family still have three different copies of J.D. Dickinson's obituary? (Obituaries for J.D. Dickinson) I've always assumed that he was a brother of Emma. Could he really be David Paris as you suggest? These blended families were even more blended than I thought. Here is another example of name-swapping or confusion about last names (Name "Emma Paris" in John W. Staley obit)

Is there another connection between the Dickinson and Foland families (besides the marriage of John William Staley and Emma Dickinson Staley), possibly a marriage between James Paris and Almeda Foland? It was interesting to hear other familiar names (such as Plunkett). Who was Caroline's third husband? Who was James Paris's first wife?

You mentioned a boarding house. Here are some photos, possibly from Illinois. I don't know any of them. Maybe you'll recognize one. Illinois Buildings?

Apart from a few photos and obits, this census data from 1870 has helped. (Census Data for Dickinson Family) I incorporated info from Veronica Ancestry pages as they appear on Roots Web.

I'll look for more relevant photos as I keep scanning and sorting boxes of family archives.
